Introducing Ritt v1.6.0

Introducing Ritt v1.6.0

After a hiatus of nearly a year, we are very excited to introduce many powerful new features and improvements in this update. The full release notes can be found here. In this post, we will highlight the major changes.

Internal Scripting

Ritt is built for power users and we have received many requests in the past for the ability to perform custom operations. With Internal Scripting, our users can write custom scripts, written in Javascript or VBS, and run them on their files and tags. For example, you could write a script to automatically create new tags based on a file's content, path or size. The full documentation can be found here. We welcome requests for more Scripting features.

Realtime Sync

This new feature is essential for users who run multiple instances of Ritt concurrently. Before v1.6, Ritt will periodically check with the Cloud service for changes. This may result in sync conflicts if changes are made too frequently. With Realtime Sync, all running instances of Ritt will synchronize within a few seconds.

Merge tags

Now, you can select multiple tags and merge them into one. The collection of tagged files will also be merged. Note that only the name, icon, alias, notes and attributes of the right-clicked tag will be retained.
